A special attention was paid to the pilot studies to be conducted within the TOGAS project. The activities to be undertaken within the upcoming Joint Action EUCanScreen to continue with the TOGAS activities were also marked. Although Azerbaijan is not partnering any of these projects, this is the first country that has translated to its national language the TOGAS survey on gastric cancer screening for community practicing medical specialists, and actively has started the data collection. Azerbaijanian gastroenterologist Jalya Nasibova is planning to use the data from her country for her PhD thesis. This has to be mentioned that Azerbaijan so far is facing problems with either Cancer Registry or organized cancer screening.
