The purpose of the meeting of experts from Europe and its neighboring countries is to finalize the data collection templates and the process of data collection necessary for the project.
CanScreen-ECIS will provide understandable and easy-to-access data about cancer screening across Europe. Knowing how cancer screening programmes are performing will ultimately help programme managers to work together with various stakeholders (such as the European Cancer Leagues) to improve the quality and coverage of screening.

 project, which takes place at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France. Within the framework of this project, experts in the field of cancer are developing cancer screening indicators, the reporting of which in the EU common database will be the responsibility of each EU member state in the future. This data management system will be integrated into the already existing European Cancer Information System and will act as a quality control mechanism in EU cancer screening programs.){kind=link}
