TRUSTparency

Objective: The main objective of the TRUSTparency project is to promote the reproducibility of research results through a maximally informed, context-sensitive, collaboration-oriented, democratic, and transparent approach to developing various interventions.

Summary: The project's interventions for promoting the reproducibility of research results will be designed not as burdensome bureaucratic requirements, but rather to enable organizations to develop an action plan tailored to their own needs, helping research organizations, research funding organizations, and publishers promote reproducibility.
It is planned that the interventions developed within the TRUSTparency project will consist of four interconnected elements: good practices, training materials, reproducibility promotion plans, and monitoring mechanisms. These interventions will be developed and piloted so that they are suited to different needs.
Within the TRUSTparency project, materials and recommendations (guidelines, practices, and training materials) will be developed to enable various science-related institutions, such as universities, science funders, and publishers, to ensure that the results of scientific research can be verified and replicated, thereby increasing the reliability of science.
To achieve its main objective, the TRUSTparency project focuses on five key tasks:
developing a modern knowledge base on existing reproducibility-promoting interventions and mapping differences in the attention given to reproducibility across different types of institutions and countries. This will result in a broad set of interventions structured according to their quality, suitability for different types of knowledge creation, and position within stages of the research cycle;
establishing specific collaborative activities and coordinated efforts among different types of institutions, types of knowledge creation, and countries in Europe and beyond. This is expected to result in a broad mutual learning activity on reproducibility to promote the exchange of best practices and, potentially, the development of two new national reproducibility networks (in Greece and Latvia). A permanent Stakeholder Advisory Board and dissemination platform — a reproducibility community — will be established;
jointly developing structured and modular training materials using a three-stage plan (development, pilot testing, validation-finalization);
jointly developing guidelines for a reproducibility promotion plan, including policy guidelines and monitoring mechanisms. The guidelines are intended to cover how to create, implement, monitor the effectiveness of, and update a reproducibility promotion plan to help institutions develop their own plans;
establishing a reproducibility community as a central platform to facilitate communication, ease recruitment, and promote the project's results. The reproducibility community will serve as a collaboration platform for all interested participants, forming the basis for the project's awareness-raising activities and ensuring its sustainability after the project ends.
