Project “Creation of a Cancer Expertise Network” (JANE-2)

The EU Joint Action, or JANE-2, project aims to develop seven new, interconnected Expertise Networks, accessible to both patients and healthcare professionals. It is expected that these networks will contribute to and improve the quality of life both during and after cancer.

The Expertise Networks will cover the following areas:

1. complex and poor prognosis cancer cases;

2. palliative care;

3. cancer management;

4. personalised primary/secondary prevention;

5. omics technologies;

6. high-tech medical resources;

7. adolescent and young adult cancer.

The newly established Expertise Networks are expected to strengthen the European cancer community and will provide a variety of services:

a) development of clinical practice guidelines and/or general recommendations or support for healthcare professionals, patients, the public;
b) public awareness and advocacy/policy-making;
c) development of healthcare organisation models;
d) development of educational initiatives/tools for healthcare professionals and patients;
e) implementation of research promotion activities;
f) development of quality criteria for accreditation/validation mechanisms;
g) patient and public engagement;
h) etc.

Project implementation period: from 01.11.2024.-01.11.2028.
