It is expected that the Institute will be substantially supplemented by the academic staff of the University of Latvia, attracting research staff from both the University of Latvia and the clinical medical institutions (first of all, the Riga East Univrersity Hospital).
Based on the previous work, active involvement of students is expected, incl. student, resident, doctoral student, postdoctoral student.
The involvement of students in the undergraduate studies (professional program in medicine, pharmaceutical bachelor's and master's programs, biology and chemistry master's programs) is expected, offering the students the themes of the corresponding study program, creating the opportunity to present the results both in Latvia and internationally. Similar opportunities will be offered to students in professional medical residency programs. It is anticipated that the development of a research group on the basis of the institute will create additional jobs for doctoral and postdoctoral studies, especially in sectors where research is currently underdeveloped.
One of the aims of the Institute is defined as promoting the growth of young scientists in the Institute's research profiling sectors. As well as one of defined tasks is to participate in the implementation of the academic study programs of the University of Latviav(Bachelor, Master, Postgraduate and Doctor) and implementation of professional, continuing education and lifelong learning programs
